Dan Bayliss Quartet

Although Dan will be graduating from the Birmingham Conservatoire jazz course this year, that doesn't mean he's new on the scene. His groups have already appeared at the Cheltenham and Edinburgh Jazz Festivals, at The Snape Maltings and regularly at The Spotted Dog Jazz Club. He was talented-spotted by Gilad Atzmon, who asked him to be his teaching assistant at an international jazz workshop in Germany.

 

The band features Gareth Fowler on guitar, Stuart Barker on bass and Jim Bashford on drums. Expect to hear original compositions, reworked standards, contemporary jazz tunes and the influences of Charlie Parker, Dick Oatts and Jerry Bergonzi.
