Christine Tobin

Christine is making a welcome visit to Birmingham Jazz, just before she heads off to live in New York City.  Christine Tobin will be performing a varied programme of some of her original material, along with a selection of her striking, innovative interpretations of classic songs from Leonard Cohen, Milton Nascimento, her settings of poems by W.B. Yeats as well as the ever popular Great American Songbook, including favourites by Jerome Kern, Ellington, Gershwin, Michel Le Grand and many more.

This will be a wonderful evening of classic songs by 2014 'Jazz Vocalist of the Year', Parliamentary Jazz Award winner Christine Tobin. With ten highly acclaimed CDs under her own name and four major awards under her belt, Christine is now treasured as one of the leading lights on the UK and international scene. She has led various projects over the years and is renowned for her originality, beguiling rich voice and superb bands.
