Christine Tobin Quartet

Christine Tobin and Phil Robson start our Crossing Boundaries Festival, of jazz with another art forms. They have now established themselves on both the London and NYC scenes. Christine has long been associated with transforming other writers work into jazz lyrics and this performance will feature jazz arrangements of the writings of W B Yeats, Leonard Cohen and now Herman Melville and William Morris.

This will be with her enhanced trio featuring the incredible Gareth Lockrane, giving her the opportunity to express her full arranging skills and songbook repertoire. The two seminal albums Christine has released as a librettist of others works started with “Sailing to Byzantium” the Yeats work; “A Thousand Kisses Deep” is her Cohen tribute. She is well known for setting other people’s words and this gig will also feature new arrangements of works by Herman Melville and William Morris.
