Jon Lloyd Quartet

The new Jon Lloyd Quartet plays contemporary European jazz. They improvise on Jon’s sensitive and melodic compositions, creating a rich tapestry of sound. The quartet comprises musicians well known on the UK and European scene. The music has clear harmonic ideas and emphasis on melodic themes. There are minimalist motifs and repeating figures, with bass lines and extended grooves. Jon’s new music is undoubtably accessible, but still with an exploratory verve, more a European jazz aesthetic.
