Satori

Award winning saxophonist & composer Josephine Davies brings her dynamic ensemble Satori to 1000 Trades to celebrate the launch of ‘Weatherwards’, their fourth album on Whirlwind Recordings. The music is inspired by Josephine’s Nordic roots in the Shetland Islands, and beautifully weaves together the band’s contemporary jazz background with a hauntingly evocative folk influence.

As well as UK and European touring with Satori, Josephine runs her own jazz orchestra, The Enso Ensemble, which has just released its debut album ‘The Celtic Wheel of the Year Suite’ on Ubuntu Records. She is also a member of the Harper Trio, with recent performances at Patras Jazz Festival and the Elgar Room at the Royal Albert Hall, and Espial, a free jazz group with a fully improvised album out last year on Discus Records.
