Pete Hurt

Pete Hurt has quietly been part of the London jazz scene for almost four decades and has developed one of the most uniquely distinguishable sounds and styles. Apart from his great saxophone playing he has also been recognised for his compositional and arranging skills. They play mostly original pieces by Pete with a smattering of pieces by Wayne Shorter, Kenny Wheeler etc plus the occasional standard. I’ve only done a couple of gigs with Alcyona but I think she’s a fantastic player and I intend to get her to contribute music to the band’s book as she is wonderful writer.
