A Festival of live jazz performances drawn from the full range of UK working jazz musicians over three days in May 2024. The festival brings together players from the 1960’s jazz, through to emerging talent now, in a linear history of the art form performing original musical pieces through the ages. The Festival will programme eleven gigs over three days in May 2024, reflecting the spectrum of UK jazz development since the 1960’s right up to date. Starting with the emergence of British Jazz up to recent RBC jazz graduates. Each will perform pieces that they created at the start of their careers – Then – & conclude with contemporary pieces – Now – all reflecting the diversity of UK Jazz. Also Then & Now reflects the demographic changes in the jazz line up,  both in gender & ethnicity, which have taken place in UK music since the 1960’s.
